Bradford Cathedral has announced a heritage weekend of crafts and craft-making, a shoal of 950 fish is on display in Chichester Cathedral which has just announced its flagship event to mark Chichester950, Worcester has announced a summer medieval festival and Lichfield is bringing back The Beach and will host the Natural History Museum’s Wildlife Photographer of the Year Exhibition – just some of the events visitors can discover at our cathedrals this summer.

All our cathedrals have exciting programmes for everyone throughout this summer – from headline exhibitions to family days and arts and crafts – and all are underpinned by the daily rhythm of prayer and worship.
Some of our cathedrals charge entry and there may be a fee at others for specific events, but all our cathedrals are free to enter for prayer, worship or to light a candle.

Worcester Cathedral – Medieval Festival Weekend, MEDIEVALFEST
This summer, Worcester Cathedral invites visitors to journey back to the Middle Ages with MEDIEVALFEST – a celebration of medieval life, culture, and adventure for all ages. From Thursday 14 August to Saturday 16 August, the Cathedral and its grounds will be transformed into a bustling medieval hub filled with entertainment, education, and enchantment.
Highlights include:
- Medieval Market – Open daily with delicious food, drink, and artisan crafts.
- Movies in the Cathedral – Classic and family-friendly films in a stunning gothic setting.
- Dragon Trail around the Cathedral and grounds.
- Talks & Workshops – Learn calligraphy, explore medieval history, and hear from expert speakers.
- Family Fun – Storytime, crafts, games and interactive activities for children.
- Tower Climbs & Tours – Discover the Cathedral’s secrets from top to bottom.
- Music Recital – Enjoy the sounds of the past in a breathtaking acoustic space.
- Medieval Banquet in a Medieval Palace – A feast fit for royalty (booking required).
- Dungeons & Dragons Night – Adventure awaits in this table-top games night!
