As part of our water theme this year we are running a series of fun events and activities. Full details on the cathedral website (click below).
19 July – 31 August: Wonderful Water – Children’s Summer Trail. Discover connections to water as you explore Salisbury Cathedral. Pick up a self-guided trail sheet, follow the clues and uncover the stories that flow through our sacred space.
23 July – 27 August: come long to our Family art and craft activities every Wednesday (9.15am-3.00pm). 23 July River Bugs & Water Lilies. 30 July Clay & Collage Fish decorations. 6 August Painting & Mask Making. 13 August Make your own Fishing Game. 20 August Paper Crafts & Origami. 27 August Decorate your own Swimming Bag. (All materials are provided).
The craft activities and trail are free with a cathedral admission ticket.
6 August: Explorer Dome – The Water Show LIVE!. Experience a celebration of water inside the Explorer Dome. A live, presenter-led science show suitable for families and children age 5+. Each show lasts 45 minutes. Shows at 10.00am, 11.15am and 12.30pm. Please book in advance. You will need a cathedral admission ticket and a Water Show LIVE! ticket.
20 August: Lost & Found Film Screening. As part of our Water theme this year, we’re screening a selection of animated films with a water theme in a cosy TV den in the Trinity Chapel. Enjoy three fun Pixar shorts, followed by the beautiful animated film Lost and Found (U). With individual headphones for every viewer, you can enjoy these animated films without interruption in the relaxed and atmospheric setting of the cathedral. Children must be accompanied by at least 1 adult. Screenings at 10.30am and 1.30pm. Please book in advance. You will need a cathedral admission ticket and a film screening ticket.
