Gloucester Cathedral Stone Carving Festival – Own a Piece of History
28th August 2025
Own a piece of living history: online auction now live featuring unique stone carvings from Gloucester Cathedral’s Stone Carving Festival.
The festival – held over the Bank holiday weekend was a celebration of heritage, craft and creativity that brought together stonemasons and craftspeople from across the country.
Now carvings produced during the Festival – along with historic stones that once formed part of the Cathedral itself and other specially created works – are available to bid for in an online auction.
All proceeds will support the Cathedral’s East Cloister Project, safeguarding the beautiful 14th-century medieval Cloister for generations to come.
The finished pieces are also on display in Gloucester Cathedral’s North Aisle from Wednesday 27 August to Tuesday 2 September.
For those unable to visit in person, full details and images can also be viewed online. The auction is live now and can be accessed here.
Bidding closes at 11pm on Tuesday 2 September.
Gloucester Cathedral is grateful to the Cathedrals Workshop Fellowship (CWF), the Worshipful Company of Masons and the Friends of Gloucester Cathedral for their generous support of the Festival.
