Divine Light – what’s your favourite stained glass window? Voting is OPEN!
Over the 45 days through Advent, Christmas and beyond, we have featured remarkable craftsmanship that shows the depth and range of the stained-glass artistry in every one of our cathedrals plus the two Royal Peculiars, Westminster Abbey and St George’s Chapel at Windsor, and St German’s Cathedral, Isle of Man, from the 12th century to modern times.
The AEC’s #DivineLight campaign was based on the latest volume by Janet Gough, OBE, author, lecturer and advisor on historic churches and cathedrals, which reveals the stories of England’s remarkable cathedral glass collection.
From one of the earliest stained-glass schemes in Canterbury to mark the murder of Thomas Becket to Portsmouth’s Dunkirk and D-Day windows commemorating a crucial wartime rescue, the stained glass of England’s cathedrals represents a significant national art collection and spans 900 years.
Over 110,000 of you engaged with this campaign which saw us share one stained glass image every day for 45 days across our social media platforms: LinkedIn, Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram and BlueSky.
Twelve windows have made it to the final – determined by the number of likes, shares, and engagements throughout the 45-day campaign.
Here the 12 finalists (in no particular order) ..

And now it’s over to YOU.
Participants must choose just one and leave their name and email address to be in with the chance to win one of three copies of Janet’s book chosen in a random draw at the end of the competition next month.
You can find out more about all of the windows here.
