One-Day Walking Pilgrimage
In anticipation of the new Cuthbert Centre for Pilgrimage and Prayer launching in September, the Revd James Shelton will be leading a series of one-day walking pilgrimages this summer.
Each walk will follow a circular-route, departing from and returning to the Cathedral, exploring Durham and its beautiful surroundings. Along the way James will share reflections and insights, with opportunities to reflect together (and in silence) about the spirituality of walking and the practise of pilgrimage. Walking routes may vary, though will typically be 6-8 miles long. Please bring a packed lunch with you and dress for the anticipated weather.
All are welcome to attend, including those of deep faith, some faith, or just curiosity. No previous experience of pilgrimage or church is needed.
Dates are: 13 June, 16 July, 18 July and 1 August.
