We are excited to welcome Dutch organist, Maurits Bunt who will explore repertoire taking us from the Renaissance period all the way through to the Romantic period. Maurits studied organ privately with Sietze de Vries, Bas de Vroome, and Aart Bergwerff, improvisation with Hayo Boerema, and church music with Hanna Rijken and Arie Hoek at the Codarts Conservatory in Rotterdam. He completed both Master’s studies in organ with Ton Koopman (early music literature) and Hayo Boerema (improvisation), and carillon with Frans Haagen and Christiaan Winter.

The variety of music played will also be reflected in the organs used – Maurits will play our wonderful romantic 1877 Father Willis organ as well as our 2025 Klop Chamber organ, which is closer in sound to the organs one might have heard during the Renaissance period. This concert will explore this variety in sound and repertoire.

This event is organised by Salisbury Cathedral.
