This short free concert offers a foretaste of Advent and Christmas to mark the opening of the Cathedral Christmas Market. The music will lead us from Advent through to the threshold of Christmas, a mix of familiar and less familiar choral gems, getting us in the mood for Christmas but leaving us wanting more.
The cathedral’s professional choir of boys, girls and lower voices will be conducted by David Hardie and accompanied on the organ by Conor McGlone.
The programme will include choral music looking towards Christmas by Handel, Elizabeth Poston, John Rutter, David Willcocks and others.
Admission is by donation on the door in aid of the Cathedral Music Fund.
No booking is required.
