Bristol – First Concert Since Lockdown

28th September 2020

Bristol Cathedral has announced it will host its first event since lockdown and is getting ready to welcome The Fitzhardinge Consort to raise funds and send the audience out with a spring in its step.

Bristol cathedral gets ready to host its first event since lockdown

It is the first concert Bristol Cathedral has hosted since we went into lockdown last March to save lives and keep people safe.

The Fitzhardinge Consort is made up of professional singers from across the South West who work together for the benefit of the community and for the love of art.

Acclaimed by Classic FM as “exquisite purveyors of a capella choral music” they hope to lift the community’s spirits when they perform in the 900-year-old Bristol Cathedral on 8 October 2020.

They will be raising money for the cathedral and will perform a programme of Renaissance and Baroque music – including the famous Miserere by Allegri – finishing off with a challenging close-harmony set.

Fitzhardinge Director Peter Wagstaff said:

“During times of sorrow, music can lift us up. It is crucial we support the community and the work of Bristol Cathedral, and Fitzhardinge will do that the best way we know how – by singing.”

Like every Church of England Cathedral which is able to re-open to the public, Bristol Cathedral has achieved the Visit Britain’s industry standard and consumer charter mark We’re Good to Go which means visitors can be confident that cathedrals are taking all the necessary steps to help ensure people’s safety in line with latest Government and Public Health guidance.

Tickets will be limited to 75 for this concert to enable social distancing, face coverings must be worn throughout the performance unless personally exempt, attendees must abide by the Rule of Six, and contact information will be retained for 21 days after the event for Test and Trace.

Tickets are £10 each and are available from Opus13 or call 0117 923 0164.
