Cathedrals Plus is the network for all those engaged in welcoming visitors to places of Christian worship. They have two main strands and offer support for those responsible for visitor care and events, plus those responsible for education and learning. Membership is offered to every Anglican Cathedral, Roman Catholic Cathedrals, Abbeys, Shrines, Minsters, and major churches; it caters for every place of Christian worship that welcomes a significant number of visitors in the UK and in Europe.
An annual residential conference is held over three days, usually in January, where delegates can take part in training sessions and workshops specifically tailored to their role. They can also enjoy the most rewarding benefit of membership – networking with colleagues, sharing experiences and ideas.
Regional training sessions for both strands are held during the year, some in person, some online. Members can attend free of charge or at a discounted rate if levied. They also have access to discrete social media chat groups providing the opportunity to share good practice and seek advice or information from fellow members.
The Cathedrals Plus website, cathedralsplus.org.uk, has the facility for member organisations to advertise job vacancies free of charge.
The Chair of Cathedrals Plus is the Very Reverend Dr Anthony Cane, Dean of Portsmouth.
Cathedrals Plus is supported by its Secretary, Sarah Page.
