Seeking Sanctuary is a new 20 minute dance performance created by Whispered Tales that shares the story of how Ukrainians were forced to leave their home and seek sanctuary here in England.
Choreographed by the professional Ukrainian artist Olena Hrabchak the performance will include 12 young talented Ukrainian dancers all with first hand experience of being displaced. The performance will include edited interviews from both Ukrainian refugees and their British hosts families. Performed under Peter Walker’s acclaimed installation Peace Doves, Seeking Sanctuary will celebrate the importance of offering a safe place of refuge in times of crisis and promises to be an emotive performance not to be missed.
Whispered Tales was formed in 2019 and are based in Liverpool with two artistic directors Esther Simpson and Steve Gibbs. The company deliver projects that shine a light on forgotten sites and people. They are known for their combination of visual flair and emotive cinematic sound design. They create a range of artworks from large scale installations, audio trails, light night illuminations and bespoke performances.
