This summer, experience Living Water, a profoundly contemplative art exhibition set against the stunning backdrop of Salisbury Cathedral. Featuring a captivating array of artworks both inside and outside the Cathedral, this exhibition explores the multifaceted power of water and what it means to different people. From immersive installations to evocative sculptures and thought-provoking paintings, six contemporary artists offer their diverse perspectives on water as a source of life, memory, and connection. Whether wandering through the Cathedral’s awe-inspiring spaces or its serene outdoor grounds, visitors will encounter art that sparks reflection and wonder.
27th August at 11.00am and 2.30pm and 2nd September at 2.30pm: Curator’s Tour. Our Curator will guide you around the Living Water exhibition, offering insights about each artwork and the artists that made them. This tour requires two tickets – in addition to your tour ticket you must ensure that you also have a valid Cathedral admission ticket (or valid annual pass from a recent visit, or proof of address for residents with SP1-SP5 postcodes).
7th September at 4.30pm: A meditative service. Incorporating some of the paintings and installations from the current art exhibition in the Cathedral, this reflective service will include a series of short meditations by the Cathedral clergy on themes arising from the exhibition, along with water-themed prayers, hymns and chants. Free, all are welcome. The service will last approximately 50 minutes.
