Carols with Pride – a first for Truro Cathedral

Truro Cathedral will host its first Carols with Pride concert this year celebrating the Christmas story with Cornwall Pride.

This service celebrates love, welcome and diversity and all are welcome.

The carols, readings, and music services will include poetry performed by Jay Hulme, poet, performer, and educator.

Carols sung with Truro Chamber Choir and Vocal Presence, including traditional and loved favourites; Hark the Herald Angels Sing, Ding Dong Merrily on High and God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman with readers including the CEO of Cornwall Pride, the director of education for the diocese and Cornwall Council’s chief executive.

The Dean of Truro, the Very Revd Simon Robinson, said:

“Truro Cathedral has a long history of working with community groups across Cornwall during Advent and Christmas. 

“Many different groups hold carol services and celebrations in Truro Cathedral. I am delighted that we will be working with Cornwall Pride in our first-ever Carols with Pride Christmas service.”
