Cathedral Christmas Markets and Fairs 2024

13th November 2024

What’s on at Sheffield, Exeter, Guildford, Peterborough, Carlisle, Worcester, Wakefield and Truro.

From Carlisle to Truro, Peterborough to Ripon and Ely to Winchester … our cathedrals are partnering with local makers, crafters, buyers, businesses, charities and other organisations to offer visitors unique Christmas gifts and craft fairs.

Cathedral Christmas Markets and Fairs 2024

It’s the return of Sheffield Cathedral’s craft and flea market this Saturday too with its emphasis on shopping small and shopping local with a huge selection of products from illustrations to vintage bric-a-brac, plants to jewellery, sustainable products to food and ceramics to candles.

Find out more here.

Exeter Cathedral’s Christmas Market also opens this weekend and runs until 15 December with scores of twinkling festive chalets situated in front of the cathedral offering local gifts and produce, bars, global street food and seasonal entertainment.

Markets and fairs are taking place at St Eds, Ripon, Winchester, Ely, Canterbury and Hereford – find out about them here.

Guildford Cathedral’s popular Christmas Fair is back on Friday 22 and Saturday 23 November 2024, from 10am to 4pm with over 50 stalls offering bespoke Christmas gifts, decorations, spirits, jewellery, accessories, and more!

Entry is just £3 on the door.

Peterborough Cathedral’s Christmas Craft & Gift Market runs for two days from 22-23 November. There will be over 100 stall holders offering a wide range of gifts and crafts and the building will be transformed into a winter wonderland with candles, fairy lights and music.

Carlisle Cathedral will host the QUIRKY ECLECTICA CHRISTMAS FAYRE in The Fratry for two days 29 –  30 November. Stallholders include local makers and crafters and entry is free.

Worcester Cathedral sees the return of its Christmas Fayre in the Cloister from Thursday 28 November to Sunday 1 December.

People are invited to join in for the opening service for Worcester’s Victorian Christmas Fayre on Thursday 28 November at 4:45pm. And there will be Shoppers Carols at 2pm on Saturday 30 November.

Wakefield Cathedral is holding a winter fashion show on 2 December with a host of well known names including Monsoon and Jaeger. Included in tickets is a glass of fizz (non-alcoholic options too) and a mince pie.

And Truro Cathedral will host Made in Cornwall’s Christmas fair just in time for those last minute Christmas gifts.  All products are from Cornish makers, creators and artisans, and each maker and producer has been authenticated by Cornwall Council’s Trading Standards Service to ensure that every product is genuinely produced in Cornwall and has the official Cornish Gold Stamp of approval.

Friday 20 and Sat 21 December.
