Two llamas took to the stage for Exeter Cathedral’s nativity service at the weekend, playing the role of the wise men’s camels.
But these are not ordinary llamas for half-brothers Harry and George are therapy llamas and Harry even won the animal category in this year’s BBC’s Make A Difference Awards.

Harry first took part in the cathedral nativity in 2021 and George joined him in 2022. They both wear pack saddles adapted with cushions to create their humps and are led by the three wise men around the cathedral.
The Dean of Exeter, the Very Revd Jonathan Greener, said,
“They are splendid. Everyone’s face lights up when they appear. It’s wonderful to see.”
Maggie Jee, founder of Llamas4Good, said:
“They absolutely love it, they love being the centre of attention, and the cathedral loves them, they always say they’re the stars of the show.
“At the end the children usually come up and meet them and stroke them.
“They have a sort of calming aura, just right for the season,” she added.
