Time – Exeter Cathedral
30th December 2024
Artistic collaboration, Luxmuralis, are to return to Exeter Cathedral next month with a new sound and light show entitled Time.
Designed to take visitors on a journey through “history, science, and imagination,” the artists say this latest work explores our relationship with time, drawing inspiration from portrayals of humans through different eras, theories of relativity and the text of H.G. Wells’ novel, The Time Machine.
It is the fifth art installation that Luxmuralis has brought to Exeter and the Dean, the Very Revd Jonathan Greener said: “We are especially excited by this year’s sound and light show, which will provoke our imaginations to meld together science and history, as we explore this complex thing we call ‘time.’
“And for the first time, not only will it explore the magnificent architecture of the cathedral’s nave but also shine a light on our 13th century Chapter House and brand-new Friends’ Cloister Gallery.
“A really exciting evening out,” he added.
‘Time’ by Luxmuralis will be at Exeter Cathedral from 7-11 January 2025. Buy tickets via Exeter Cathedral’s website here.
