Worcester Cathedral joined forces with leading local solicitors during the summer to offer people the opportunity to write or update their will in exchange for a donation to the Cathedral.
Local Solicitors Help Raise Thousands for Worcester Cathedral Through Will‑Writing Initiative
Three leading city firms generously gave their time to support the Cathedral through its second annual ‘Make a Will this Summer’ campaign which ran from June until autumn.
The initiative raised £3,626.50!
Director of Fundraising at Worcester Cathedral, Cathy Sloan, said:
“We are very grateful to everyone who kindly made a donation to the Cathedral through this scheme and to the lovely solicitors who were extremely generous with their time and expertise.
‘Having a will is so important and by working together we can enable more people to have this critical document that will help their loved ones when the time comes.”
Florence Goodwin, Private Client Solicitor from SME Solicitors, added:
“It is such an honour to be part of the Wills for the Cathedral scheme. It is lovely to work with other law firms in the local community, all for the good of our beautiful Cathedral. It is clear that the scheme is popular with local residents, and I hope it is one that runs for many years to come.”
‘Make a Will this Summer’ is back again for 2026. Details will be released later in the year – and if you are a firm of solicitors looking to get involved, please contact Cathy Sloan to be part of this community campaign.
