Gala Concert with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Saturday 13 June at 7.00pm

At the heart of Gloucester Cathedral’s Organ Festival weekend is the landmark gala performance with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, conducted by Adrian Partington, Director of Music at Gloucester Cathedral, and featuring internationally acclaimed organist Thomas Trotter.  Tickets from £20.00.  Programme will include works by Gigout, Jongen, and Saint-Saens.

Lunchtime Concert by Gloucester Cathedral’s Singing Academy, Sunday 14 June at 12.30pm

A joyful lunchtime celebration of young voices in song, as children from across Gloucestershire join together for a world-premiere performance of a special new commission.

This concert will celebrate the work of Gloucester Cathedral’s new Singing Academy, which strives to nurture young voices through a range of inclusive, high‑quality musical opportunities rooted in the Cathedral’s long musical tradition.  Composer Lin Marsh has written a special new cantata for the Singing Academy to enjoy for years to come. Today will be the world-premiere of this special work.  Tickets are free but booking is required.

Recital by Wayne Marshall OBE, Sunday 14 June at 7.00pm

The internationally acclaimed conductor, organist and pianist Wayne Marshall OBE comes to Gloucester Cathedral for a special recital marking the unveiling of the Cathedral’s magnificent new organ. Renowned worldwide for his virtuosity, versatility and electrifying musicianship, Wayne brings a global reputation and exceptional artistry to this landmark moment in the Cathedral’s musical life.  Tickets £20.00.

Masterclass with Wayne Marshall OBE, Monday 15 June at 2.00pm

Members of the public are warmly invited to observe a special masterclass led by Wayne Marshall OBE in the Cathedral Quire. In this unique open session, Wayne will work with local organ students, exploring the art of improvisation under his expert guidance.

With Wayne mic’d and the screen in use, you’ll be able to see and hear every detail as he shares insights, techniques and musical inspiration — offering a rare glimpse into the creative process at the console. Whether you are an organist, a music lover, or simply curious, this is a fascinating opportunity to witness world-class teaching in action.  No booking required.
