Southwark Cathedral – Summer Organ Festival

30th July 2026

Southwark Cathedral has announced the return of its Summer Organ Festival, welcoming internationally acclaimed organists from across the UK and Europe for five Monday evening recitals throughout August.

Southwark Cathedral – Summer Organ Festival – 3–31 August

Running every Monday from 3–31 August, the festival celebrates the rich tradition and versatility of the organ through performances on the Cathedral’s renowned T.C. Lewis organ. Each recital is accompanied by a pre-concert conversation and audience Q&A, offering visitors a chance to hear directly from the performers and guest interviewers.

This year’s festival welcomes five internationally respected performers whose careers span Europe’s leading cathedrals, concert halls and conservatoires. The programme includes award-winning Slovak organist and composer Zuzana Ferjenčíková, who has performed at venues including Notre-Dame de Paris and the Berliner Philharmonie; Colin Walsh, Organist Emeritus of Lincoln Cathedral and one of Britain’s most distinguished recitalists; Southwark Cathedral’s own Assistant Director of Music Simon Hogan; acclaimed German concert organist and Professor of Organ Martin Schmeding; and French virtuoso Jean-Baptiste Monnot, titular organist of the celebrated Cavaillé-Coll organ at Saint-Ouen in Rouen.

Across the five recitals, audiences will hear a wide-ranging repertoire, from Baroque masterpieces by J.S. Bach to Romantic favourites, twentieth century works and contemporary compositions.

Tickets start from just £5 from the Southwark Cathedral website.
