Bristol During the Second World War: The Crucial Role of Bristol Cathedral and Diocese
During World War II, Bristol was designated as a “neutral zone,” meaning it neither evacuated its citizens nor officially received evacuees. This had devastating consequences, leaving Bristolians to organize their own civil defense. Dr. Starns will delve into the pivotal role that Bristol Cathedral and the Diocese played in offering shelter, leadership, and hope during the Blitz.
This event is free for Friends of Bristol Cathedral, with tickets available for £5 for guests.
