An exhibition of work by Speaking Up Together Beyond Boundaries, a self-advocacy group led by adults with learning disabilities and autism from the North East of England.
The group first connected with Newcastle Cathedral in 2022 through a community singing group. Since then, they’ve become regular visitors, meeting at Café 16 in the Cathedral Refectory and leading creative workshops.
With support from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, they developed a project focused on creating accessible workshops and resources.
They are now working on further accessible resources for neurodiverse visitors as part of the Cathedral Lantern Project, which aims to be a beacon for people navigating difficult circumstances in life.
This exhibition celebrates the group’s remarkable creativity, showcasing a selection of inspiring artwork and resources they have created.
