Northern Proud Voices is the North East’s largest and only LGBTQ+ and allies choir, proudly celebrating its 15th anniversary this year.
The choir will return for its fourth annual concert at Newcastle Cathedral, closing Pride Month on a joyful note and building excitement for Newcastle Pride with powerful, uplifting pop anthems.
Kate Husband, representative of Northern Proud Voices, says: “It is a huge privilege to be asked to perform again at our annual Newcastle Cathedral concert.”
“We are a non-audition community choir that is thriving as a space to sing, socialise and be safe in a world that is increasingly challenging. We are, however, flourishing and growing and take great comfort knowing it is a place where people can come to just enjoy their singing in a non-judgemental and inclusive space, and if hate is shouting, we will just sing and love louder.”
