VE Day – Winchester Cathedral

23rd April 2025

Lighting up red, white and blue, commemorative worship, music, bunting and bellringing – all our cathedrals are getting ready to remember, reflect and give thanks to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for peace in our times.

VE DAY 80 – join us in a shared moment of celebration and remembrance.

More VE Day 2025 events here.

Winchester Cathedral will commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE Day with a special service of Choral Evensong at 3.30pm on Sunday 11 May.

Sung by the Boy Choristers and Lay Clerks, this service will include thoughtful prayers, beautiful music and poignant readings, with contributions from young people from Hampshire.

It will be a special opportunity to reflect, remember and give thanks for those who served.

Everyone is welcome to attend, whether in-person or online via live stream.

This event was organised by Winchester Cathedral in conjunction with Hampshire Youth Network.
