Coventry Cathedral has issued an open call to musicians, choirs, bands and performers to be part of a 24 hours live music marathon this September.
A first: Coventry Cathedral launches 24-hour music marathon
In the first of its kind, the Music Marathon will showcase talent from across Coventry whilst raising funds for the Cathedral Choir’s tour to Malta in October 2026 when the choristers will represent Coventry and the Cathedral internationally, sharing the cathedral’s core mission of peace and reconciliation through music and worship.
Joe Watson, Acting Director of Music said,
‘In a first for Coventry Cathedral, we’re bringing 24 hours of non-stop music to the Cathedral, involving musicians from across the city. We’re inviting local musicians, choirs, bands to get in touch with us to be part of this fabulous event, which is being held to support the Choristers trip to Malta in 2026, representing Coventry and the Cathedral.
The event will run from 25th and 26th September 2026 from 4pm -4pm and the cathedral welcomes all performers whose music is sympathetic to the sacred space – acoustic and contemporary genres are particularly encouraged.
