Derby Cathedral – First Tree of Light

Derby Cathedral has installed its first standalone Tree of Light in response to the ever increasing number of people coming year on year to write a tag to put on their Christmas tree.

The decorated Christmas Tree can be found in the nave while the new Tree of Light stands in the tranquil Cavendish area of the cathedral, creating a place for people to find time for reflection, sanctuary and light this festive season.

People can write their own message to hang on the tree and children are encouraged to add a drawing or poem or message too.

Derby Cathedral – first Tree of Light

The Tree of Light is available until Sunday 5 January.

There is a suggested donation of £3 for a message. Donations will go towards the work and care of Derby Cathedral, keeping the doors open for welcome and warmth.
