Election Prayer 2019 – Reconciliation in the Heart

The spirit reconciliation is at the heart of everything at Coventry Cathedral. Their Dean, John Witcombe has written this prayer ahead of next weeks general election. Worth reading.

Loving God
We pray for your family, struggling and squabbling to know what is best for them and this country, and for our neighbours across the world.
Bless us with a spirit of shared understanding and with wisdom, compassion and courage as we make decisions which will shake and shape our future.
We ask this in the power of the Spirit and in the name of Jesus Christ, the prince of peace.
