01st April 2025
The F Word: Stories of Forgiveness exhibition opens in the nave of St Edmundsbury Cathedral this week and runs until the 13 April
The F Word – an exhibition exploring the forgiveness opens in St Edmundsbury
The exhibition explores restorative justice and forgiveness in the face of atrocity with a thought-provoking collection of images and personal narratives.
It draws together examples of restorative justice in England and Northern Ireland and examines forgiveness in South Africa, America, Israel and Palestine.
Adult Learning Manager, Chris Eyden, who has brought the exhibition to St Edmundsbury said,
“Forgiveness is something everyone can relate to. We’ve all forgiven something or someone, even if in a small, day-to-day capacity.
This exhibition looks at the power of forgiving what many may consider the unforgivable and how restorative justice is becoming increasingly important in the reconciliation of both offenders and their victims.
“It’s powerful and thought-provoking and everyone is welcome to encounter the stories that in many cases have been life changing.”
The exhibition comes from The Forgiveness Project. Founded in 2004 by journalist, Marina Cantacuzino, the project provides resources and experiences to help people examine and overcome their own unresolved grievances.
At the heart of The Forgiveness Project is an understanding that restorative narratives have the power to transform lives; not only supporting people to deal with issues in their own lives, but also building a climate of resilience, hope and empathy.
The exhibition has been kindly sponsored by Greene & Greene Solicitors. It is is free to view and can be seen in the Cathedral Nave until 13 April.
